How does Transactional Analysis help you?

That’s a great question.  Thanks to our last post you know what transactional analysis is!  Big Deal right?  It can heltransactional analysisp you in a variety of ways and this post will EXPLAIN IT ALL!

The most important factor is the ego state.

A good manager will understand the ego state of each person he has to manage.  Your ego state will depend largely on your parents.  Was your dad hard on you as a child?  How did you react to him?  Positively or negatively?

If your dad was hard on you and you reacted negatively than a manager being hard on you would usually get the same response.  In this case, if the manager knows TA then he’ll understand that to work manage you correctly that he’ll need to be help and understanding rather than “rule with an iron fist”.

So we’ve got a lot to talk about!  Even my landscaper knows exactly how to use TA in his business.  When he’s talking to a propsective client he knows what to say, but more importantly how to say it.  If you’re in the New England area you should give him a ring just to hear him change the way he’s speaking to you in order to set up an estimate.  You can go to his website at https://www.prolandscapingbrookfield.com!

Great question – hopefully you have some ideas about what TA could be or else WHY ARE YOU ON THIS PAGE??!!  I’m going to do my best to play the nurturing parent role from here on out.  You’ll get that joke after you watch the video below.  I will always try to include a video when I’m doing my blog posts in case your a visual learner like myself.

For me TA is a great way to notice what ego state the person is in while keeping my ego state 70% the nuturing parent and 30% the adult.  The “emotion less” adult will give me an advantage when trying to close the sale.  If I stray too far away from NP or A I’ll find myself become emotional.  Becoming emotional in the sales process is never a good idea.  Before I get too far into it just give the video below a quick watch:
